Master’s Program (Special Screening for International Students)

Notes:
(1) A few students may be accepted in this program.
(2) Applicants should choose one of the laboratories listed above and consult with the professor of the laboratory about your application.

2.Requirements for Applicants

Those who wish to apply for the two-year Master’s course should fulfill (or be planned to fulfill by the date of enrollment) one of the following requirements:
(1) Completed sixteen years of formal education in a foreign country.
(2) Aged 22 years or over and individually qualified by the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences as being equal or superior in scholastic achievements to graduates from Japanese universities or colleges.

3. Application Procedures

(1) Completed Application for Admission (A copy of the form is available at the Admission Office of the Graduate School).
(2) Certificate of graduation or expected graduation from the university/college the applicant last attended.
(3) Official transcripts from the university/college the applicant last attended.
(4) Application fee (35,000).
(5) Certificate of alien registration (Required for those staying in Japan more than 90 days).

4. Period of Submission

Until mid-January.

5. Selection Process

(1) Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in written examination and interview (oral examination).
(2) The subjects of the written examination are English Language and the Specialized Subject in the Major each applicant has chosen. Questions will be given in both Japanese and English, and answers may be written in English in the specialized subject examination.
(3) For the date and time of examination, ask the Admission Office.
(4) The place of examination is the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tohoku Pharmaceutical University.
(5) Special screening will be held for students from the university/college which has an international agreement with Tohoku Pharmaceutical University.

6. Announcement of the Selection Result

The result of the selection will be announced on a notice board of the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tohoku Pharmaceutical University. For the date of announcement, ask the Admission Office. Successful applicants will be notified separately by postal mail.

7. Tuition and Entrance Fee

International students who study at their own expense can apply for tuition and entrance exemption.

2.Requirements for Applicants

Those who wish to apply for the three-year Doctoral course should fulfill (or be planned to fulfill by the date of enrollment) one of the following requirements:
(1) Awarded by a graduate school in a foreign country a Degree equivalent to a Japanese Master’s or Professional Degree.
(2) Aged 24 years or over and individually qualified by the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences as being equal or superior in scholastic achievements to those holding Japanese Master’s or Professional Degrees.

Graduate students studying in Japan can apply for following scholarships:
 
(1)Japanese Government Scholarship.
(2)Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) scholarship.
(3)Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) scholarship.
(4)Private organizations and other sources of scholarships.
