1.Number of Students to be Accepted : several

Medicinal Science Course

  • Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Synthetic and Medicinal Chemistry
  • Natural Product Chemistry / Structural Glycobiology
  • Bioanalytical Chemistry※ / Pharmacology※ / Environmental and Health Science※
  • Pharmacognosy※ / Medical and Pharmaceutical Information Science※
  • Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics※
  • A total of 10 laboratories ( ※ stands for cooperating laboratories )

Life Science Course

  • Cell Recognition Study / Glycopathology / Regulatory Glycobiology / Biochemistry
  • Infection and Host Defense
  • Radiopharmacy※ / Physiology and Anatomy※ / Pathophysiology※
  • A total of 9 laboratories ( ※ stands for cooperating laboratories )

Note: You should obtain your desired research advisor’s approval before submitting application documents.

2.Qualification of Applicants

Applicants for the special selection of non-Japanese students to the master’s course should not have Japanese
nationality and also need to fulfill at least one of the following requirements

  1. Graduated from a foreign university or have equivalent qualifications
  2. Acknowledged by the Graduate School of Tohoku Medical and Pharmaceutical University to have academic skills equivalent to those of university graduates

by Friday December 8, 2023

3.Documents to be submitted

  1. Entrance application form (designated form)
  2. Medical certificate
  3. A designated-form written pledge (signed by the student) combined with a letter of certificate (signed by a guarantor)
  4. Certificate of (prospective) graduation or completion issued by the school last attended
  5. Certificate of academic performance from the school last attended
  6. Certificate of Japanese Language Proficiency or official grade transcripts of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test conducted by Japan Educational Exchanges and Services
  7. Certificate of alien registration (applicants residing in Japan only)
  8. Certificate of qualification for studying overseas issued by a Japanese diplomatic office or foreign government
  9. Other documents required

Doctoral Course

1.Number of Students to be Accepted : several

Medicinal Science Course

  • Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Synthetic and Medicinal Chemistry
  • Natural Product Chemistry / Structural Glycobiology
  • A total of 4 laboratories

Life Science Course

  • Regulatory Glycobiology
  • Biochemistry / Infection and Host Defense
  • A total of 5 laboratories

2. Qualification of Applicants

Applicants for the special selection of non-Japanese students to the doctoral course should not have Japanese nationality and also need to fulfill at least one of the following requirements:

  1. Obtained a degree corresponding to a master’s degree outside Japan or have equivalent qualifications
  2. Acknowledged by the Graduate School of Tohoku Medical and Pharmaceutical University to have academic skills equivalent to those of university graduates
